Proofs of Legitimacy and Nobility: Prove di legitimitá e nobilità di D. P. Ant. Dan[ielis] Siracusano; 1692 (f. 92). Italian and Spanish. Copy, 18th cent. A collection of proofs of legitimacy and nobility concerning Pietro Antonio Danielis of Syracuse of Sicily, son of Count Giuseppe Maria Danielis. All are copied in the same 18th-cent hand from 17th-cent manuscripts. The accuracy of the contents is verified in the margins of each folio by the notary Francisco Antonio Longo, who has also certified the whole copy with his seal, signature and attestation (f. 93v). Armorial bookplate of Frederick North with shelfmark 'L/16/B' (front pastedown). '457/8' in pencil in upper right corner of armorial bookplate. Formerly Phillipps MS. 5821, trace of Phillipps shelfmark on lower spine. Purchased from Philadeliphia Rare Books and Manuscripts Company, Philadelphia, 13 June, 2001.
Paper; ff. iii + 96. Old foliation in ink 1-96. 317 x 224 mm. Two 18th-cent. hands. Guilford binding of quarter vellum with blue and beige marbled paper covers.
