ORIGINAL LETTERS relating to political affairs from British Envoys and others abroad, addressed, with three exceptions, to George Stepney, as secretary to the Hon. John Johnston, Envoy at Berlin, and as Envoy to various European Courts; 1691-1706. They belong to the collection of Stepney Papers in Add. MSS. 7058- 7079, which were presented to the Museum in 1829 by W. R. Stokes (see letter from F[rances] Stackhouse Acton to the Rev. John Yardley, 12 Feb. 1877, f. 1).
