MISCELLANEOUS legal papers, copies of wills, courtrolls, etc., relating chiefly to the family of Sheldon, of Brailes House, co. Warwick, partly also to the families of Brawiie and West of Alscot in Preston-on-Stour, co. Gloucester, 16th-19th centt. ; arranged topographically. The bulk concern the neigbourhood of Stratford-on-Avon, and are similar to the papers contained in vols. xiii., xiv. of the West Papers, Add. MSS. 34739, 34740. Three volumes. Vol. I. (ff. 247). In Vol. I., at ff. 75-101, are churchwardens' accoompts for Preston-oil- Stour, 1696-1769; at f. 102 Jos. Hathaway is witness to a will, 1735 ; and at f. 162 is a copy of a composition between the archbishop of Canterbury and the prior and chapter of Worcester, 1268, confirmed by the prior and chapter of Canterbury, 1275. In Vol. II., at ff. 8-36, are a few papers relating to the property of Thomas Steavens, a ward of James West, 1720-1765 ; and at ff. 100- 153, court-rolls of the manor of Cherington, co.
