“Notes on English Churches by James Lewis André, F.S.A., Architect," being architectural descriptions of over 500 churches visited, 1848-1895, with notes of monuments, etc. Some drawings are included in the text; and some photographs, engravings, etc., and printed articles by J. L. André are inserted. Five volumes. An index of counties and churches is prefixed to each volume. The same counties are dealt with in several volumes. The counties included are cos. Bedford, Berks, Bucks, Cambridge, Essex, Hertford, Kent, Middlesex, Norfolk, Nottingham, Oxon, Somerset, Southampton (with Isle of Wight), Suffolk, Surrey, and Sussex. References to these, but not to the separate parishes, are given in the general Index to the catalogue. Paper; ff. 368, 322, 294, 387, 282. With J. L. André's bookplate in each volume. 9 1/2 in. x 7 1/2 in. Bequeathed by the Compiler.
