EXCHEQUER Accompts of Sir John Cutte, Under Treasurer of England, temp. Hen. VIII., in Latin, viz. :-
1. " Visus " of all fees and annuities payable at the Receipt of Exchequer, or by the collectors of customs at certain ports, for the year ending Michaelmas, 11 Hen. VIII. [1518-1519]. This is either a draft or one of the " paper duplicates," which in some cases exist in addition to the official vellum copies of these yearly Declarations, most of which are in the Public Record Office. Another fragment relating to the same declaration is in Cotton MS. Tib. B. iv. f. 80-85. Imperfect at the beginning. The recipients of exchequer-salaries are classified as (a) Lords, ladies, etc., (b) Heralds, etc., (c) Persons ecclesiastical, (d) Sergeants at arms (the particulars of the first three and part of the fourth class are wanting), (e) " Valecti corone," (f) Master of the ordnance and gunners, (g) Officers of the exchequer, (h) Officers of the receipt of exchequer. f. 1.
2. " Hereafter followeth all suche sommes of money as is demaunded by the kynges most honorable counsell " to be paid from the receipt of exchequer during the year ending Mich. 19 Hen. VIII. [1526- 1527] " over and besides wages, fees and annuyties, and other charges with assignementes ther yerely accostomed to be paid and allowed ". a statement showing the revenue available to meet the demands.
