FYNES MORYSON'S Itinerary in Ireland, as secretary to Charles Blount, Baron Mountjoy, Lord Deputy; 1599-1603. Latin. Holograph. The second part of the " Itinerarium quod Fynes Moryson Anglus scripsit, decennalis suæ peregrinationis observationes continens, etc.," of which Harl. MS. 5133 forms the first part; there described as " Hugonis Comitis Tyronensis in Hibernia rebellionem post maguas clades sopitam et itinerarii pariter forma scriptam continents." The whole work contained four parts, three of which were published, in English, as An Itinerary, etc., in 1617. This second part, with one chapter of the third part, was reprinted, in English, at Dublin in 1735 as A History of Ireland from 1599 to 1603. The MS. of the fourth part, in English, is at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, MS. XCIV. Paper; ff. 289. Belonged to Sir Andrew Fountaine of Narford Hall, co. Norf. (d. 1753); sale-cat. 1902, lot. 454. 7 in. X 9 1/2 in.
