LETTER-BOOK of Lieutenant-Colonel (afterwards Lieut.-Gen. Sir) Thomas Picton, as Governor of Trinidad; 26 Jan.-16 Oct. 1799. Followed (f. 46) by three original private letters (and a few fragments) from Picton in London to St. Hilaire Begorrat in Trinidad, 16 Aug., 20 Sept. 1804, 18 Sept. 1805. The book contains drafts or copies occasionally autograph (e.g. ff. 8, 12 b, 13 b, 16, 27 b, etc.), but usually in a secretary's hand. Originals of some of the dispatches are in the Public Record Office. Paper; ff. 52. Folio.
