DRAWINGS in pencil and watercolours of ecclesiastical and domestic architecture, etc., in England, almost entirely by John Buckler, John Chessell Buckler his son, and Charles Alban Buckler his grandson; 1757-1874. Arranged in alphabetical order of counties. Views of the Acropolis of Athens in 1827, the Gate of the Sun at Toledo, and the Dominician convent at Chalais, are included (ff. 95-97). All the names of places appear in the Index. This volume and 36980 are supplementary to the Buckler Drawings acquired in 1900 (Add. MSS. 36356-36443). At the beginning is a letter from Mr. C. A. Buckler, Surrey Herald, to Sir E. M. Thompson, K.C.B., Director and Principal Librarian of the British Museum, with remarks on several of the drawings in this volume; Oxford, 25 July, 1904.
