1. " Liber de exemplis sacre scripture compositus a fratre Nicolao de Hanapis, ordinis predicatorum, patriarcha Ierosolomitano " : a compilation several times printed (Lyons, 1559, etc.) under the true name of the author, the Dominican Nicholas de Hannapes, Patriarch of Jerusalem 1288-1291, and also falsely attributed, under the title Biblia Pauperuni, to St. Bonaventura (0pera, ed. Peltier, viii. p. 483). A table of capitula precedes, but the preface given in most of the editions is absent. Beg. " Creacio rerum fuit ita mirabilis quod eius noticia." f. 4.
2. " Incipit prologus in librum de victoria Christi contra Antichristum editum a fratre Hugone de Nouo Castro ordinis fratrum minorum " ; in two books. Printed, Nuremberg, 1471. For the author, High of Newcastle (fl. 1322), see Dict. Nat. Biog. A copy of the tract is noted 'by Bale (Index Brit. Ser., p. 172) at Queen's Coll., Oxford, but is Dot in Coxes catalogue. Preface beg. " Non sum propheta nec filius prophete. Humilis ille propheta Amos and text, " Quia non omnis noticia incipit a cognicione." f. 78.
3. " Tractatus pauperis contra insipientem nouellarum heresum confictorem contra euangelicam veritatem " (so colophon, the last leaf being re-written in a 15th-cent. hand): a tract in defence of the Franciscans against "tres libellos ignoti opificis unius uoluminis," not, as Martin (Peckham's Register, iii. p. xcviii.) asserts, the works of Guillaume de Saint Amour, but apparently the tract Contra adversarium perfectionis Christianae (of Gerard of Abbeville?); see Denifle, Chartul. Univ. Paris, i. p. 415. The name of the author, John Peckham (Archbishop of Canterbury 1279-1292), is given by MSS. at Oxford (Corpus Christi Coll. clxxxii.) aud Florence (see Dict. Nat. Biog.) ; and Bale (op. cit., p. 237) notes a copy at Queen's College, Oxford (not in Coxe). Preface be,-. " Quis dabit capiti meo (etc.). Consideranti mihi dierum istorum maliciam "; and text, " Perfectus omnis erit (etc.) Luce vi. Magister plane Christus." Ends, " Ownium triumphatore qui cum (etc.)." f. 106. The flyleaves are (a) Two leaves of a 14th cent. Breviary of English use (Salisbury modified ?), containing SS. Ciithberga and Giles and Nativity of the Virgin ; music not inserted. ff. 1, 144 ;-
(b) Two leaves of some collection (circ. 1300) of scholastic quaestiones, the subjects being De relaxationibus and De oratione. ff. 2, 3. Vellum; ff. 144. Late XIV. cent. Initials in red and blue.
