ASSIZE of Bread, consisting of a set of tables regulating the weight of loaves of seven different kinds calculated on the variable price of wheat per quarter, viz. from 3s. to 268., the weights used being the coin of the realm. Imperfect both at the top and bottom of the two columns, so that the 14s., 14s. 6d. and 15s. tables, and a similar number after the 26s. table, are missing. See Rev. W. A. Scott Robertson, Kentish Archxology, vol. iii. (1878), p. 13. Vellum Roll; 5 ft. 4 in. x 11 1/4 in. xv. cent. Mended with part of a lease of lands in Rochester, in 1586.
