DUTCH NAVAL TRANSCRIPTS. Transcripts of official papers relating to naval affairs in the archives at The Hague. Dutch. These documents form part of a collection, the greater part of which was published (in English translation) in Letters and Papers relating to the First Dutch War 1652-1654, Navy Records Society, 6 vols., 1899-1930, edited by S. R. Gardiner and C. T. Atkinson, together with a volume of Corrigenda by Capt. A. C. Dewar, R.N., 1931. The transcripts from this series, covering the earlier period 14 Feb.- 2 Nov. 1652. (New Style) and edited by S. R. Gardiner, op. cit., vols. i and ii, were presented by him to the British Museum in 1899 and are now Add. MS. 38491. The documents described below comprise the residue of the collection, which was edited in vols. iii-vi by C. T. Atkinson. All dates are according to the New Style. Paper. Four volumes. Folio. XIX cent. Presented by the Navy Records Society.
