(1) Letter from Sir John Norris, commanding the English forces in Brittany, to Sir Anthony Shirley, giving an account of an engagement with troops led by the Governor of Laval (similarly described in Cotton MS. Caligula E. ix, ff. 17b-18); Entrames, 27 April 1593. Contemporary copy. ff. 1-1b.

(2) 'Of Robert Devoreux (sic) Earle of Essex and George Villiers Duke of Buckingham': a 17th-cent. copy of Sir Henry Wotton's Parallell betweene Robert late Earle of Essex, and George late Duke of Buckingham, London, 1641, etc. Other MS. copies are in Lansdowne MSS. 213, ff. 203-213, and 489, ff. 111-118; Stowe MS. 289; and Add.
