(1) Documents relating to a petition of the Indians of Tepetlaoztoc for a grant of four 'cavallerias' of land in the vicinity; 1605-1607. The material comprises:-(a) The original instructions to Pedro De Goni y Peralta, alcalde mayor of Tezcuco, signed by the Viceroy, Juan Manuel Hurtado de Mendoza y Luna, Marqués de Montes Claros, to investigate the circumstances; Mexico, 15 Dec. 1605. Followed by certificates of proceedings in the investigation. ff. 2-7b;- (b) Pictorial plan of the property, in ink and colour wash. f. 8;-(c) Final report of Pedro De Goni, with marginal notes of the official decisions; March-May 1607. f. 9. ff. 1-9.
(2) Proceedings in evidence of title before the court of the Justicia Mayor of Tacuba, at the instance of the alcaldes of S.
