Kent, belonging until 1650 to Sir Thomas Walsingham, Knt., and afterwards to his son-in-law James Master and the latter's heirs; with other papers relating to these manors and to Mereworth, co. Kent, viz.: 1. Court-book of (a) West Peckham, 1632-1749. f. 1; (b) reversing the volume, Swanton, 1636-1767 (with rental of quit-rents, 1757, on f. 34). f. 40 b. The old vellum cover (ff. 41 b, 42) is a portion of a mortgage by Percival Staple to Edward Gisbye of an inn called the George at New Brainford, al. West Brainford [Brentford, co. Midd.], 1629.
2. Original presentments and estreats of the above manors, 1621-1668 followed (f. 53) by an extract of the will (Prerogative-court register of Canterbury) of Sir Thomas Nevyle, Knt., of Mereworth, 23 May, 1542, and extracts from the Mereworth court-rolls, 1593-1632. f.43.
3. Rental of Swanton, Sept. 1580. f. 57. The vellum cover (ff. 55 b-56) is part of an exemplification of Exchequer proceedings [circ. 1611- 1613] concerning Boxley Park, Park, etc., co. Kent. Paper (except ff. 41, 42, 55, 56); ff. 63. Folio.
