Only two of the papers have been identified among the Southwell MSS. already acquired, viz. : (a) certificate of Sir R. Southwell's receiving the Sacrament. f. 22 (see Add. MS. 38015, f. 163); (b) letter of Sir R. Southwell touching the death of Sir Edmund Bury Godfrey. f. 36 (see Add. MS. 38015, f. 316). Paper; ff. ii + 38. Circ. A.D. 1692. Folio. The volume was in Thomas Thorpes catalogue, 1834, no. 952, and again, 1836, no. 178, when it was purchased by Sir Thomas Phillipps. Phillipps MS. 8833 (sale-cat. 15-18 June, 1908, lot 690). Purchased at Hodgson's 2 May, 1912, lot 259 (part).
