Title:

EPISTOLAE CANONICAE, with glossa ordinaria (interlinear and marginal) of Anselm of. Laon and Walafridus Strabo, see Migne, Patr. Lat. cxiv. 671. General preface beg. "Catholice dicuntur" (Berger, no. 295). Vellum; ff. ii + 88. 7³/₄ in. x 4³/₄ in. XII cent. Text in two hands (the second beg. f. 73) in single narrow columns of 14 lines; glosses in more than one hand; an addition to the text on f. 78 may he by the writer of the glosses on that leaf. Sec. fol. "Qui autem hesitat". A few initials in red. Belonged to the Cistercian Monastery of Morimondo, dioc. Milan; see f. 88b, in a l5th cent. hand, "Liber sancte Marie de Morimundo, ordinis Cisterciensis Mediolanensis diocesis, N^oLXXX" [the xxx in blacker ink], and on f. 80 b, "N^o LVIIII^o," in a hand of about the same date. Old binding of wooden boards with leather back. A deseriptive note on f. ii is in an Italian hand probably of the l7th cent. Purchased at Sotheby's (sale-cat. 28 June, 1912, lot 270).
