Contents: (1) De tempore from Advent, including (f. 60 b) the Exultet chant on Holy Saturday, set to music on a three-lined stave. f. 1 ; (2) De sanctis, from St. Stephen to St. Thomas, including Thomas of Canterbury, William of York, Robert of Molesme, Peter of Tarentaise, Bernard, Malachy, Edmund of Canterbury. f. 109 ; (3) Epistles for special occasions, dedication of church, pro familiaribus, de sancta cruce, etc. f. 141 b; (4) Epistles for Corpus Christi and Corona Domini, added in 14th cent. (palimpsest). f. 148; (5) One leaf of a homily, in a 14th cent. hand, beg. "[I]nitium euangelii Iesu Christi . . . Conferendum est hoc euangelii Marci principium." f. 149. Vellum; ff. ii + 149. 10 3/4 in. x 81/4 in. Middle of xiii cent. Written in Italy. Gatherings of 8 leaves (ix, xiv6, xix irregular). Initials in blue and red, the large ones of unusual design. Belonged to Rev. John Henry Ellis (sale-cat., Sotheby's, 30 June, 1913, lot 105).
