(palimpsest). f. 148; (5) One leaf of a homily, in a 14th cent. hand, beg. "[I]nitium euangelii Iesu Christi . . . Conferendum est hoc euangelii Marci principium." f. 149. Vellum; ff. ii + 149. 10 3/4 in. x 81/4 in. Middle of xiii cent. Written in Italy. Gatherings of 8 leaves (ix, xiv6, xix irregular). Initials in blue and red, the large ones of unusual design. Belonged to Rev. John Henry Ellis (sale-cat., Sotheby's, 30 June, 1913, lot 105).
