COLLECTIONS for the history of Pershore Abbey Church, by Joseph Frederic Wickenden, sometime curate (1853-1857) of Pershore, afterwards (1876) prebendary of Norton Episcopi in Lincoln Cathedral (d. 1883) ; with a formal title-page dated 1864, but including papers of later date. ff. 4-34 formed a separate set of papers, and deal principally with the history of the monastery and the succession of abbots. The rest of the volume, consisting of drafts and contributory material, and including papers on the parish registers (at f. 98) and a description of the pre-Reformation church (at f. 133), has been arranged, where possible, in the same sequence as the former portion. Pershore Church was restored in 1864 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, who apparently assisted the author in his collections (see ff. 2, 34 b). At the end of the volume (ff. 229-246) are a few letters, 1862-1870. Paper; ff. 246. Folio. Presented by H. B. Walters,.Esq.
