LECTURES on English Law, being pts. iii and iv (dealing with Civil Injuries and Crime) of a course delivered by Sir William Blackstone at Oxford in 1754. Prefixed to each part is a printed schedule giving the arrangement of the course, on which is based that of his later lectures as Vinerian Professor (cf. Add. MSS. 36093-36101) and his printed Commentaries on the Laws of England. Whole, passages are in many cases identical. Paper; ff. ii+ 309. Folio. A.D. 1754. Book-plates of arms of Thomas Bever, LL.D., in whose autograph the MS. is apparently written, and Sir James Allen Park. Other owners' names are R. B. Darrell and J[ohn] R[obert] Kenyon of Pradoe, Vinerian Professor, who was presented with the volume by Sir W. B. Riddell in a letter (f. ii) stating that he bought it at Park's sale, 1843. Presented by Robert Lloyd Kenyon, Esq., of Pradoe.
