HAZLITT CORRESPONDENCE: letters, chiefly on literary and bibliographical subjects, some to William Hazlitt, the younger, Registrar of the Court of Bankruptcy (b. 1811, d. 1893), the majority to his son William Carew Hazlitt, bibliographer and numismatist (b. 1834, d. 1913), respectively son and grandson of the essayist ; 1814-1913. Sixteen volumes. The collection includes a correspondence between the above, a few papers relating to the family, and letters from, amongst others, J. P. Collier, J. O. Halliwell- Phillipps, H. Huth, W. W. Skeat and F. J. Furnivall. A few of the letters are printed in Four Generations of a Literary Family, 1897, and The Hazlitts, 1911, both by W. C. Hazlitt. The names of all writers of letters will be found in the Index. Bequeathed by William Carew Hazlitt.
