MEDICAL Treatises, viz.: 1. The poem De urinis of Aegidius of Corbeilles, with gloss. In 340 (chiefly hexameter) verses, against 334 of Royal MS. 12 D. xiii, art.
9, and 352 of Choulant's edition (Aegidii Corboliensis Carmina, Leipzig, 1826). The present copy is carelessly written (see f. 10, where 1. 48 of the printed edition is written a second time instead of 1.49, although accompanied by the gloss on the latter). The glosses agree substantially with those in 12 D. xiii. Text beg. "Dicitur urina quoniam fit renibus una" ; the ending is that of the printed edition, with the mistake of "castra" for "casta" in the penultimate line. Commentary beg. "Urina dicitur in renibus una quia ibi formatur generaliter." f. 2.
2. A series of notes, chiefly on urines; cf. 12 D: xiii, art. 14. Beg. "Sicut sunt quatuor qualitates . . ." Followed (f. 56b) by recipes against scrofula. f. 53b.
3. Rules relating to medicine, beg. "Hi sunt canones et regullae de modo componendi receptas." f. 57.
4. "Tractatus de modo doxandi," containing lists of medicines, etc., followed by rules. Beg. "Medicine tenperate-aurum." f. 60b.
5. Miscellaneous recipes. f. 70b. Paper ; ff. i + 76. 73/4 in. x 55/8 in. Late XV cent. Written in Italy, and formerly bound with two medical tracts printed at Padua in 1487 (now IA 30029 and 30030A in the Department of Printed Books). Transferred from the Department of Printed Books.
