1. " Fürstliche Mindische Cantzeley und Berichts Ordnung": a copy of the Chancery regulations of Christian, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Bishop of Minden, apparently made from the edition printed at Rinteln, 1628 [Dept. of Printed Books, 1234. a. 10 (2)] ; followed f. 30 b) by added forms of oaths etc., the last dated 14 Jan. 1672, and by a list of court fees. Germ. f. 1.
2. Political ballads, viz.:-- (a) Verses on an election at Westmeath, beg. " Sir Owen Makue For ever may rue The vate of the Vestmead Elexin Elexin." References to Henry Rose, Richard Tighe, and Thomas Marley [M.P.'s for Kerry, Down, and Londonderry respectively] point to the election preceding the Parliament of 12 Nov. 1715. f. 35;-
(b) " The Dublin-Jubilee- a new Poem, ascribed to the Rt. Honourable Lord Mayor of this city [i.e. John Reyson] on his rideing the franchises, August the 12th 1725, accompanied by all the Corporations," beg. "He who with Homer dares engage the field" an incomplete copy of the poem printed by " E.N.," 1725 [Dept. of Printed Books, 839. iii. 23 (54)], and partly reprinted in " A Poem on the twenty-five Corporations," etc., 10 Aug. 1773 [ibid. 1890. e. 5 (108)]. f. 37 ;- (c) Copies of the verses sent to Dean Swift on his birthday [30 Nov. 1732], by the Earl of Orrery, accompanying a " Blank paper book, finely bound and gilt," beg... "To thee, dear Swift, these spotless leaves I send," and by Dr. Delany, accompanying a silver standish, beg. " Hither from Mexico I came." Both are printed, with Swift's reply, in Swift's Poems, ed. These include :- (a) Poem, in Dutch, " Aan zijne Doorluchtige Hoogheid den Heere Willem den Vijfde ... op den 8sten der Lentemaand [i.e. 8 March] MDCCLXVI," beg. " Doorluchtig Vorst, die 't Schip van Neerlands vrijen Staat . . ." signed " I. Bilderdijk, M.Dr." i.e. Izaak Bilderdijk, father of the poet. Apparently autogr., with notes of authentication in French. f. 45 ;-(b Letter from Willem Bilderdijk to [J-] Immerzeel [junior], referring to proofs of his Nieuwe Dichtschakeering, the difficulty of obtaining a portrait of his wife [probably for the Nederlandsche Muzen-Almanak] and to the forthcoming' number of the Muzen-Almanak.
