The principal contents are twenty-nine suites probably adapted and arranged by the compiler, many of them from operatic works by Jean Baptiste Sully (ff. 1-100 b passim.), and a set of twelve toccatas by Georg Muffat (ff.114b-132b). Other composers named or identified are [Nicholas Antoine] Le Bègue, [Robert?] King, - Deopard, Hamel Bruinincks, [Jacques Champion] de Chambonnière[s], [Giovanni Gioseffo (?)] Fiocco, [Pietro Andrea] Ziani, [Henry] Purcell, [Querin (?) van] Blankenburg, [Marc Antoine] Charpentier, [James? ] Paisible; Louis Sully, J. B. Sully, jun., [John?] Barrett, Jeremiah Clark, [Jean Claude] Gillier, [Johann Christoph] Pepusch, [Francis] Forcer, [Thomas?] Tollett, and Pascal Colasse. At ff. 105 b, 133 b, 135 b are compositions by [Arcangelo] Corelli, Handel, and [John Christopher] Smith [jun.], in the hands of L[ætitial F[rances] Selwyn and F[rances] E[lizabeth] (afterwards wife of Dr. George Peacock, Dean of Ely), daughters of William Selwyn, K.C., by whom the MS. was given to Miss Selwyn in 1821.
