Partly autograph, but mainly dictated. Two volumes. The contents, with omissions noted at Vol. I, f. 119, Vol. II, f. 214, and an introduction by J. F. Tattersall, were published as Reminiscences of a Literary Life, John Murray, 1917. Of these omissions the chief are, in Vol. 1: " Literary Suicides," ff. 28 b, 101 b;-" Weekly Reviewing," f. 76 b;-" Lord Hardinge and Mr. Layard," f. 80.-" Duchess of St. Albans," f. 87 ;-in Vol. II: II Edward, second Lord Thurlow," f. 34;-
"Lord Hardinge and Sir Robert Peel," f. 39 ;-" Mrs. Carlyle," f. 65 b;-" Sidney Smith and Lord Alvanley on Sam Rogers," f. 114 b.
