RUBBING of part of the original inscription, in Latin hexameters, from a sepulchral brass in the chancel of Bromham church, co. Bedf., made for Thomas Wydvile, of Grafton (d. 1435), and his wives, but adapted (16th cent.) to commemorate Sir John Dyve, of Bromham (d. 1535), and his wife and mother (see Victoria County Hist., Bedf., iii, p. 47, Haines, Manual of Monumental Brasses, ii, p. 4, Mill Stephenson, List of Monum. Brasses, 1926, p. 3). The fragment, detached from the brass to make room for Sir J. Dyve's inscription, is still in the church. Rubbings of the brass in its present form are in Add. MSS. 32490 FF. 35, 34806 A. 22. Paper roll. 3 ft. 1 in. x 4 1/2 in. Presented by Walter Henman, Esq.
