LETTER-BOOK of William Blathwayt, Secretary-at-War, and acting Sec. of State to William III, containing copies or memoranda of official letters, mostly in Latin and French, to foreign potentates and others, with a few instructions for ambassadors, etc., 1695-1701. The greater part of the volume is apparently in the writing of one of Blathwayt's secretaries, whose hand occurs in parts of Add. MS. 22031 (Blathwayt's journal, 1697) and elsewhere among Blathwayt's papers,. e.g. Add. MS. 23617, f. 180, but letters on ff. 9 b, 11 b-12 b, 13, 63-64 appear to be in Blatthwayt's hand. Some of the original letters to which there are replies in the present volume are in Add. MS. 21523, and one other is in Add. MS. 11759.
