LEGAL COMMONPLACE-BOOK OF WILLIAM LONGUEVILLE, counsellor-at-law (b. 1639, d. 1721); 1664-1719, n.d. Partly Law French and Latin. Autograph, except for ff. 34-53, containing the text of two speeches in court, 7 May 1664, n.d., and f. 72b, which are in clerks' hands, with autograph corrections. Preceded (ff. 1-2) and followed (f. 101b) by indexes. The legal notes, partly taken from MSS. of Sir Matthew Hale (ff. 69, 70), and Longueville's friend, Francis North, 1st Baron Guilford (f. 89), are arranged by subject.
