INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC; mid 18th-late 19th cent. Fair copies, probably taken from printed editions:- (1) 'Concerts de Simphonies a IV. Parties' (f. 2) by Antoine Dauvergne; mid 18th cent. First violin part of opp. 3, 4, published Paris, 1751. ff. 1-17;- (2) Two string quartets by Ferdinand Fränzl, op. 1, nos. 1 and 3; [late 18th?] cent. In parts. The name of 'Mr. le Vie, de Magnieu' originally stamped on ff. 19-35 passim, but largely obliterated. ff. 18b-36b;- (3) 'Ma Barque Légère'; arrangement by Jan Ladislav Dussek of an air from A. E. M. Gretry's opera, 'La Rosière de Salency', 1774, as a rondo for piano; early 19th cent. Apparently published as an appendix to a collection of sonatas, Paris, aft. 1812-bef. [1816?], where it is described as 'la dernière pensée de l'Auteur'. ff. 37b-41. Transferred from the Department of Printed Books. Paper; ff. 41. Large quarto. XVIII-XIX cent. Ff. 37b-41 are in the same hand and on the same paper as ff. 18b-36b.
