CONTENTS LISTS OF ADD. MS. 36753, prepared by Julius Parnell Gilson, Keeper of Manuscripts, for its description in the Catalogue of Additions, 1900-1905, etc.; circa 1903. Partly Greek. Add. MS. 36753, written in 1198, is a Greek florilegium attributed to Maximus. The text was printed, with omissions, by
C. Gesner, Sententiarum sive capitum theologicorum praecipue ex sacris & profanis libris tomi tres per Antonium & Maximum monachos olim collecti, Zurich, 1546, i, pp. 163-213, and reprinted by Migne, Patrologia Graeca, xci, cols. 725-1017. A Latin translation by Ioannes Ribittus, without the omissions, is in vol. ii, pp. 179-263, of the same work. Add. MS. 36753 contains, in addition to those printed in Gesner, about 200 classical quotations and about 100 patristic quotations.

3. ff. 10-17. Classical quotations not printed in Gesner or Migne. The Cassius Dio quotations printed in Angelo Mai, Scriptorum veterum nova collectio, ii, 1827, pp. 527-67, are marked and six more can be identified in Dio, 'Roman Histories', books 52, 55 and 56.
4. ff. 18-79. Complete contents list of Add. MS. 36753 with references to Migne and Ribittus. Quotations not printed in Ribittus are marked in red, the classical ones by underlining and the patristic ones by a bracket.
