LETTERS TO GEN. SIR HEW WHITEFOORD DALRYMPLE, 1st Bart., as Acting Governor of Gibraltar, from Brig-Gen. William Cox, as British Agent to the Spanish Junta at Seville; 1808. Partly printed. Cox's letters include as enclosures a substantial correspondence with Father Manuel Gil, O.F.M., on behalf of the Junta. Most of the enclosures are copies of the originals sent to England, some, however, being originals. Preceded (ff. 2-5) by a detailed contents list and followed (ff. 266-288) by related letters to Dalrymple from others, 1808. At the end are copies, aft. 1823, of supplementary letters to Dalrymple, 1808 (ff. 289-290b), and letters to Dalrymple's son, Sir Adolphus John Dalrymple, 2nd Bart., aft. 1829, [1830?] (ff. 291-292b).
