'IL PELOPONESSO, ò vero le sette Provincie di quel Regno descritte da Pausania, illustrate, e ridotte al moderno dal Signor Dottore Alessandro Pini Fiorentino', A.D. 1703. A description, with two maps, of the Morea during its brief reoccupation by Venice (1684-1718), in which Pini took part, dying a Turkish prisoner in 1718. The provinces, reduced to four by the Venetians, are described in the order observed by Pausanias, who is quoted on occasion along with other ancient authors. Paper; ff. xvii + 57. Folio. A. D. 1703 (ff. v-xvii, taken from the binding along with three sheets of medical advertisements now in the Dept. of Printed Books, belong to a printed volume of Italian devotional stanzas, the last ending 'Per cinger poi d'eterne Rose il Crine', and are separately bound). Bookplate of Frederick North, 5th Earl of Guilford (sale-cat., 8-13 Dec. 1830, part of lot 363). A note on f. iii runs: 'Deposited with me by the late Bishop Thirlwall', i.e. Connop Thirlwall, Bishop of St David's (d. 1875). Transferred from the Dept. of Greek and Roman Antiquities.
