ANTIPHONS, Responds, Hymns, etc., in Latin, compiled probably for use by Dominicans, mainly noted in square notation on a four-lined stave. Chevalier, Repertorium Hymnologicum, are:-(i) St Peter Martyr (29 Apr.), antiphons and responds, no. 3646, ff. 2-8; hymns, nos. I0942, 435, 58I5, ff. I98b-209; (j) St Michael (29 Sept.), ff. 209-2i9b;-(5) Proses and sequences for the following feasts, ff viz.:-(a) St Catharine of Alexandria (25 Nov.), prose, no. Written by a variety of hands, probably in Germany, where the MS. was in the I5th cent. (see rubrics in German on ff. 2, I8, 26, 4I, 43, 48, 53, 65b, 66, 73 b, 89, 97 b, II6, I35, I38). Gatherings mainly of 8 leaves (vi12 2 cancelled, vii14 I cancelled, viii"+ two inserted leaves, ff. 73, 74, XV8 7, 8 cancelled, xixI2 xvi 1, 2 cancelled, xvii10, xviiis + two inserted leaves, ff. I5I, I52, 2 cancelled, xxv6, xxvii2) numbered at the beginning in a 15th-cent. hand. Gathering xxv has been left unnumbered, consequently xxvi and xxvii are wrongly numbered xxv and xxvi. The leaves of the MS. are also numbered
in Roman numerals (I5th cent.). On f. i is the note 'Pit got fvr min elspet'. Binding (I5th cent.) of wooden boards covered with brown leather and decorated with a blind-tooled diagonal pattern, with remains of brass studs.
