ORIGINAL COMMISSION, in Latin, from Pasqualis Maripetro (i.e. Pasquale Malipiero), Doge of Venice, to Leone Duodo as Governor (Duca) of Crete; 7 May 1459. The Greek colophon (so misaccented) is appended both to the table (f. 3 b) and to the text (f. 38 b) of the ordinances. Vellum; ff. i + 40. 10.1/8 in. x 7 in. A. D. 1459. Two gatherings, of 24 and I4 leaves, originally enclosed by a bifolium formning fly leaves. At f.38b is the scribal inscription: 'Dominicus Bellonus propria absoluit: mature quidem'. On f. 4 are, at the beginning of the text, an illuminated initial and, at foot of the page, Duodo's shield of arms. On the cover are the number 792 and the pressmark 'Cassella 29'. Original vellum binding, with cord (now inlaid within front cover) for attaching the seal (now wanting). Presented by E. G. Millar, Esq.
