FORMULARY of Original and Judicial Writs, arranged alphabetically, by subjects, 'Admensuratio' to 'Withernam'. Latin. Compiled in or after the reign of William III (Cf. ff. 2, 5), and probably intended for the use of a Prothonotary of the Court of Common Pleas. In form, the collection resembles the Officina Brevium: Select and Approved Forms of Judicial Writs, 1679. Paper; ff. vi+ 108. Folio. XVII-XVIII centt. Belonged to Richard Foley, 3rd son of Thomas Foley, of Witley Court, co. Worc., and M.P. for Droitwich 1711-1732 (bookplate of arms, with inscription 'Richard Foley Esq^r. Second Prothonotary of Her Majesties Court of Comon Pleas. 1703', f. i). On ff. iv-vi are notes on the MS., 1858-1861, and a table of contents by W[illiam] H[enry] Black, of the Public Record Office, who purchased it from J. R. Smith, bookseller, of Soho Square (cat., 26 Nov. 1858, no. 4020). Transferred from the Department of British and Mediaeval Antiquities.
