WILLIS PAPERS. Journals, correspondence and official papers of three members of the Willis family, Dr John Willis, the Rev. Dr Thomas Willis, and Dr Robert Darling Willis, who attended George III during his illnesses, 1788-1789, 1801-1803, and from 1810 to his death (29 Jan. 1820). In consequence of some obscurity in the will of Dr John Willis (1835) these papers passed out of the family keeping but were recovered following a Chancery suit (Willis v. Curtois, 14 Dec. 1838; in Beavan's Cases in Chancery, i, 189) by his nephew Francis Willis, referred to as 'F.W.' in Add. MS. 41697, F. 1b. Forty-seven volumes. Paper. Quarto, except where otherwise stated.
