A COLLECTION Of alchymical treatises, transcribed in the year 1474, by D. R., viz. " Nominale dictionum subtilium in hac sciencia; " being a table of Arabic and synonymous terms for metals and chemical substances, f. 2 ;-" Thesaurus Mundi, de transmutatione metallorum," divided into three parts, the last of which comprises a large collection of chvmical processes, with an alphabetical table prefixed. In a table of contents this work is entered as three articles.: the titles " Ycocedron Philosophie," and " Secreta Hermetis regis Grecorum," being given to the first two parts; but from words of the author, at fol. 31, the title Thesaurua Mundi seems to apply to the three parts as one work, f. 4;-" Opus cujusdam Magistri Federici Bononiæ,"f. 92; Doctrina Aristotelis ad Alexandrum Regem," f. 97;-[Rogerii Baconis] Speculum Alkemie," f. 101 ;-" Liber Nude Veritatis," sive " Inferior Astronomia, f. 110;-" Tractatus qui vocatur Rosarius," f. 122;-" Liber qui vocatur Solaris," f. 133 b.;-" Liber qui dicitur Gemma salutaris," f. 142;-

Instructions [of Rhasis] to his son Merlin, translated into English verse from the Latin [Cf. Ms. Sloan. 1091, f. 821, f. 153;- " Ad faciendum optimum azurum," f. 168 b.;-" Opus cujusdam nudipedis heremite de Tyngbridge, ad solem verum," in English, f. 168 b. The initials D. R., with the date 1474, are affixed to several of the articles, and are prohably intended to design David Ragor, of Wales, who is named at fol. 94 as the author of two processes there added. It is not improbable that he himself was the compiler of the Thesaurus Mundi, the principal treatise in the collection. On paper and vellum. Small Quarto. [15,549.]
