CARTULARY Of the Abbey of St. Acheul, near Amiens. The documents are distributed under the titles of Litteroe Papales ; Lilteroe Archiepiscopales; Litteroe Episcopales; Lilteroe Compromissionum ; Sentenlice Officialium ; Litteroe Militum; Chirographi; and the latest date is 1307 ; excepting three charters subsequently entered, of the dates 1315, 1322, 1370. At the commencement are some remarks by a modern possessor, in French, to shew the authenticity of the cartulary, and its date ; and a table of contents to a portion of the volume is added by the same band. At the end are inserted the following more recent papers:-" Extrait de la sentence du 15 Juillet, 1522, qui autorise le present cartulaire," f. 156 ;-Copies of three instruments in the cartulary, f. 159 ;-" Arrest de la Cour, portant homologacion des transactions et concordatz faictz entre M. [Charles] de la Grange, l'Abbé de St. Aclieul et le Prieur et convent, de la dite Abbaie," etc., 10 Juin, 1655, indorsed "Pour M. Nicolas de Lestocq, Docteur de Sorbonne, Abbé de SI. Acheul, contre les chanoins reguliers de la dite Abbaye," f. 163. On vellum. xivth cent. Quarto. [15,604.]
