THE ROYALL Genealogie of the antient, high borne, and most famous Kings of Scotland, which formerlie was called Albione, their descendance and succession ; " in four parts ; the last of which treats of the family of the Stewarts, including the royal family, with a supplement of others descended from it ; together with the Stewarts, Earls of Athol, Earls of Buchan, Earls of Traquair, Earls of Murray, and Earls of Brechine. At the end is an appendix concerning the most antient name of Menzies, of which descended the families of Pitfoddells and Weeme, and of the Earls of Galloway. Prefixed is a list of authors and Mss. consulted ; and a letter of dedication addressed to James [Drummond], Earl of Perth; William [Douglas], Duke of Hamilton; George [Gordon], Duke of Gordon; George [Mackenzie], Viscount Tarbat; William [Drummond], Viscount Strathallan, and others, in which the author states that he is a foreigner, and has made use of an ancient Ms. written by John Tulloch, Bishop of Orkney; dat. Edinb. June 12, 1688, and signed J. F. v. B. On the fly-leaf is written (but struck out with the pen) " Frederick von Bessen's (?) book," which may give the name of the author. Probably Autograph.
