ii. "Transcriptum cujusdam geneologiae familiae Senescallorum [Stewards] in Anglia, elaborat. a Banquhone, Scoto, qui vixit circiter annum Domini millesimum, et usque ad annum Domini, 1572 duct;" with a pedigree prefixed, f. 14. This genealogical history of the family of Steward ends with Symeon Steward, in whose life-time, and while studying at Cambridge, in 1511, it was finished. Then follow later additions from the family evidences, by the compiler Augustine Steward, who brings down the descent to the vear 1576. Inserted are the following documents:-

The genealogy is illustrated throughout with coats of arms in blason, and a shield with all the quarterings of the family at the end, together with a table of succession from Banquho to Robert, 1048-1570. At the end is annexed, as a supplement, a second copy of "Le Responce de Jehan Stewarde, chevaler, touchant lez demandes des Segnieurs, f. 79, and of the charter of the Abbot of Beaulieu, 17 Dec. 38 Hen. VIII., f. 80. To these are added, a copy of the Will of Sir John Steward, son of Sir John Steward, Scotangle, dat. 20 May, 1447, Lat., f. 82, and notices of other wills of various members of the family, existing in the Prerogative Court, London, f. 83 b.
