INSURANCE-BOOKS of J[ohn] Janson, kept at Lloyds, Oct. 1804-Dec. 1810 and 1815, Showing risks taken and premiums received during the war with France, arranged under headings as To or From America, Newfoundland, Gibraltar and Mediterranean, etc., with an index of the headings in each volume. Eight volumes. Letters in the last column of the earlier volumes apparently mark the loss or capture of vessels. For an analysis of these and other statistics of underwriting, of the period, see Our Next War, by J. T. Danson, London, 1894. At the end of Vol. VIII. (ff. 275-281) are bound up a few papers (found in the pocket of Vol. I.) relating to the purchase and sale of English and French stocks, 1819-1820. Paper. XIXth cent. Octavo.
