Surrey, Michaelmas, 1663-Michaelmas, 1708, kept successively by John Dawes, younger son of Sir Abraham Dawes, the founder (v. vol. ii. f. 2), Honoria Dawes, his widow (vol. ii. f. 19), and John Pettiward (ibid. f. 43). Three volumes. The Alms-house for twelve poor persons was erected by Sir Abraham Dawes, Kilt., and endowed by his will, dated in 1639, with £40 per annum (cf. Manning's History of Surrey, ed.
