This letter (an insertion at the foot of the page) is not mentioned by the chroniclers, nor does the original appear to be extant. Belonged in the 16th cent. to Robert Johnson (f. 29), and subsequently, it would appear, to Nathanael Chadwick (ff. 39, 39 b, 40 b), and (17th cent.) to John Hartley (ff. 135, 137 b).
