"ILLUSTRATIONS and venerable proofes for the pedegree of the family of Roper," of co. Kent, from William Roper, temp. Hen. III., to Christopher Roper, 2nd Baron Teynham, ob. 1622, consisting of copies of deeds, pedigree, and coloured coats of arms, and showing the connection of Roper with Apulderfeild, Chicheley, Moore [Margaret, dau. of Sir Thomas Moore al. More, Chancellor to Henry VIII., married William Roper, of Eltham], Furnival, Petre, and other families; 1644. On f. 16 are an account and portrait of Sir T. More; and the title is written within an elaborate architectural border signed "T.T. 1644." At the end are added:-(a) "Descendance d'Anne Roper et de Jean François Arrazola de Onate," her husband, 1686-1791. f. 22;-(b) Copy of a certificate of nobility and grant of aims to the family of Arrazola, 1646.
