f. 1: Leaf from the end of book 5 and the beginning of book 6 of Jerome, Commentary on Jeremiah, 12th century (possibly from the same manuscript as f. 2). Decoration: 1 decorated initial 'Q' in red ink, with spirals of foliage and a dragon. Dimensions: 340 x 228 mm (text space: 260 x 170 mm, in two columns). Script: Protogothic, above top line.
f. 2: Leaf containing the opening of Ambrose, De bono mortis, 12th century (possibly from the same manuscript as f. 1). Decoration: 1 decorated initial 'P' in red ink, with spirals of foliage. Dimensions: 340 x 220 mm (text space: 255 x 173 mm, in two columns). Script: Protogothic, above top line.
ff. 3-4: Two leaves, which have been used as a book cover, containing Isaiah 1:1-2:13, 12th century. Decoration: 1 decorated initial 'V' in red ink, with spirals of foliage, set on a blue and green ground. Dimensions: 395 x 305 mm (text space: 315 x 220 mm, in two columns). Script: Protogothic, above top line.
f. 5: Leaf possibly from a missal or mass lectionary, containing Ecclesiasticus 24:11-20 (the lection for the Mass of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, 15 August), followed by a list of saints with feast days in August, including St Arnulf, Bishop of Metz and St Philibert of Jumièges, 2nd half of the 12th century. Decoration: 1 decorated initial with spirals of foliage in colours and gold, and beside it 1 full-length figure of the Virgin Mary holding a crown in her left hand, in colours and gold. Dimensions: 270 x 180 mm (text space: 172 x 100 mm). Script: Protogothic, below top line.
ff. 6-8: 3 cuttings probably from a missal, containing illuminations with musical notation on the reverse, France, early 14th century, pasted onto a sheet of paper. Dimensions: paper sheet 430 x 325 mm, with cuttings approx 370 x 140 mm, 115 x 105 mm and 140 x 70 mm. Decoration: 1 historiated initial with scenes of the Annunciation to Zacharias, the Visitation and St John the Baptist with the Agnus Dei, with plants, hybrids and a dog; 1 historiated initial of the Resurrection of Christ; 1 part of a decorated border with ivy leaves, tendrils and part of a hybrid. Script: Gothic.
f. 9: Leaf containing Psalms 100:6-101:4 in Latin and Anglo-Norman French parallel translations, 13th century. Decoration: initials in gold with penwork decoration in colours. Dimensions: 163 x 120 mm (text space: 136 x 86 mm, in two columns). Script: Gothic, above top line. Origin: from Add MS 35283, between f. 83 and f 84.
f. 10: Cutting probably from an antiphonal, from the beginning of the chant 'Peto domine' with musical notation, 14th century. Decoration: 1 decorated initial with spirals of foliage in red, green and blue. Dimensions: 206 x 122 mm. Script: Gothic.
f. 11. Leaf from a Gradual, beginning 'Ad te levavi' with musical notation, late 14th century. Decoration: 1 historiated initial in colours and gold, of King David before an altar lifting up his soul to an angel, flanked by St Catherine and St Clare of Assisi, with Christ in Judgement above. Borders with plants, animals, a woman hunting, and a portrait of a kneeling nun with the inscription: 'Soror ysabela de gebria, que dedit xx marcas ad librum istum complendum; orate pro ea et pro omnibus que elemosinas suas ad hunc librum scribendum dederunt'. Dimensions: 468 x 315 mm (text space: 340 x 234 mm). Script: Gothic. Origin: Made at the Franciscan Convent of St Klara, Cologne. Other leaves from the same manuscript are Cologne, Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Graphische Sammlung, inv. Nr. 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 22.
