Lord Bridport was second in command of the Channel Fleet under Lord Howe in Feb. 1793, commanded squadrons for particular services in 1795 and l796, and was Commander-in-chief of the Channel Fleet 1797-1800. He sat as M.P. for Buckingham, 1790-1796.
