Origin: Netherlands, S.
The Psalter was brought to England, where additions were made to the calendar: translation of Saint Swithun (15 July). Of special interest are two obituary notes, written at different times: 'O. Robert le fiz Paein' (25 Apr.) and 'Le obit dame Roberge la Paeina' (31 July).
The name 'Ralph Eure', likewise inscribed in the calendar, was identified in the British Museum catalogue of 1875 as that of Lord Eure (d. 1698).
A flyleaf bears the note 'purchased at Loscombe's sale, 20th June 1854. lot 1172' (see Carlvant, Manuscript Painting (2012), pp. 149-55).
