"LE LIURE de senecque des quatre vertus, translate de Latin en Francois par Laurent de Premier fait." French translation, ascribed by M. Paulin Paris to Jean Courtecuisse, of the supposititious Latin tract of Seneca. The translator's prologue, addressed to John, Duke of Berry, is wanting. See another copy, which has the prologue, in Harl. MS. 4329. Vellum; xvth cent.; with miniatures. At the foot of the first page is a shield of arms, quarterly, 1 and 4, or, a cross moline gu., 2 and 3, chequy arg. and sa., surmounted by a crest, an ox's head gu. horned or. The motto "Dieu pour guyde" is inscribed at the top of the same page and at the end of the book. Small Quarto.
