Communion Service, calligraphically written in black, red and gold, by Graily Hewitt and partly illuminated by Allan Francis Vigers, the decoration being left incomplete at the latter's death in August 1921. Seven gatherings of two leaves, only two of which (nos. 1, 5) have been decorated. One page only (f. 2) is fully illuminated in gold and colours, having a border of leaf scrolls with flowers and fruit and large figure initial. Another border (f. 1), with altar, chalice and Agnus Dei with adoring angels in the base, has been sketched in pencil and ink, with certain details tinted (? for gold). Other decoration consists of particoloured bars, wreathed with floral sprays and topped with naturalistically depicted birds, used to divide the double columns of the writing on ff. 1 b, 2 b, 9-10 b, and of leaf sprays used as line fillings on ff. 1 b, 9, 9 b, 10. Vellum; ff. 14. A.D. 1921. Presented by Graily Hewitt, Esq., and by Mrs. Vigers and family, in memory of A. F. Vigers.
