Amongst the numerous entries are:-(a) The Carthusian saints, Hugo Bp. [of Grenoble] (1 Apr.) and Hugo Bp. [of Lincoln] (17 Nov.). St. Bruno, the founder of the order, in whose honour Leo X granted an office in 1514 (cf. the Bollandists' Acta Sanctorum, 6 Oct., pp. 696 sqq.), has been added (6 Oct.);-(b) Carthusian anniversaries (observed at this house on the dates indicated) The individual tricenaries (Cardinal Talleyrand de Périgord, 19 Jan. Jeanne, widow of Charles IV of France, 3 Mar.; and Amblard d'Entremont, Bishop of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, 24 Apr. Cf. Repert. statut. ord. Cartus., Basel, 1510, stat. nov., pt. i, cap. lv, 19-21, and Ordinarivm Cartvs., Lyons, 1641, cap. xxxvi, 14-16), all added; Officium benefactorum nostrorum (14 Jan.; cf. Ord. Cart., xlii, 6) ; Officium capituli generalis (Apr. ; Rep. stat., stat. ant., pt. ii, xxix, 32); Commemoratio Cluniacensis (19 Oct.; Rep. stat., stat. ant., i, xlviii, 33, and Ord. Cart., xlii, 4); Festum reliquiarum (8 Nov.) Commemoratio fratrum nostrorum (9 Nov. ; Ord. Ord. Cartusienstum (T. Kerver, 1520), and omitting the psalms at Matins, Lauds, etc., which occur in that version. f. 46;-(8) Penitential Psalms and Litany, with the daily commemorations at Lauds and Vespers (cf. There are many variations in arrangement and other minor differences from the texts in Diurn. Cart., ff. clxxxij-cclxviij, and Harley MS. 2855, ff. 57 b-201. f. 98;-(12) Sanctorale, SS. Andrew-Saturninus, differing from Diurn. Cart., ff. cclxix-cccvij, and Harley MS. 2855, ff. 201-261 b, as in art. 11. An inserted leaf (f. 167) contains only a collect for St. Louis of France (25 Aug.). Larger initials with pen-work; smaller initials in red and blue. A few coarsely executed marginal drawings (e.g. ff. 39 b, 141). Belonged to the Rev. E. S.
