LIBER CAEREMONIALIS of the Roman Curia, beg. "De Ministerio Episcopi vel Presbyteri Cardinalis . . . Sciendum eat quod Romano pontifiei." Fully collated, when in possession of Venantius Philippus Piersanctes, Papal Master of Ceremonies, by J. B. Gatticus for his Acta Selecta Caeremonialia Sancte Romanae Ecclesae, tom. 1, 1753, where it is quoted by the letter P. Vellum; ff. 163. 8.1/4 in. x 5.1/2 in. xv cent. (Calixtus III, d. 1458, is the latest Pope mentioned, f. 145, in the more or less contemporary marginal notes). Gatherings of 10 leaves (xiv^8, last^5), with catchwords. See. fol. "uicibus in quibus." A coat of arms, quarterly but otherwise indistinguishable, is at the foot of f. 1, surrounded by a laurel wreath and with cords. Of an erased note of ownership on f. 163 only the date, 3 Oct. 1561, can be read. Beneath, a 16th or 17th cent. band has added, perhaps from a leaf now lost, a colophon (printed by Gatticus, op. cit., p. 167), stating that the MS. was written in the monastery of St. Mary on Monte Morcino at Perugia for Petrus de Monte, Bishop of Brescia (d. 1457), by Jo. Bruno of Deventer. For similar colophons in other MSS. written by Bruno for the Bishop, see Codices Vaticani Latini, vol. i, 1902, nos. 327, 332, 606. Presented by John Wickham Legg, Esq., F.R.C.P.
